1652 SHILNG Oak Tree Shilling, IN at Bottom, VF30 PCGS. CAC. Noe-12, W-510, Salmon 9a-Fii, High R.6. 71.29 gn. Noe-12 shows a small die break in the tree absent on Noe-11, but the varieties are only different die states of the same marriage. This a somewhat oval example with a convex obverse, which causes the tree to show greater wear than the remainder of the coin. The legends are sharp and generally intact, though IN MAS is tight due to Boston Mint clips in the vicinity. The walnut-brown surfaces are nearly unabraded, and show minor wrinkling near the letters HV and NG. Listed on page 41 of the 2017 Guide Book.
