1783 C NOVA Nova Constellatio Copper, Blunt Rays MS62 Brown PCGS. CAC. Crosby 3-C, W-1875, R.3. Three 1783 dies are known, this one showing a 1 in the date as opposed to an I, and blunt rays. Attractive light brown color adorns this Uncirculated Nova Constellatio copper, struck in Birmingham, England and later shipped to New York for American circulation. This piece, of course, did not circulate as intended. Marks are trivial, and examples are rarely seen as fine. Population: 3 in 62 Brown, 5 finer. CAC: 1 in 62, 0 finer (3/17).
