Bust Dimes
1830/29 10C JR-5, FS-301, R.2, MS63 PCGS. Diagnostically, the 0 of the date positioned completely under the curl is the primary pick-up point for the JR-5 dime, even though it is an overdate. Even on this sharply struck Select Uncirculated coin, the visual evidence of any underdigits is meager. A glass reveals only slight repunching on 1 and 8, with traces of the 2 showing at the lower outer loop of 3 and remnants of a 9 at the top of 0. Surface doubling on the digits is more noticeable. JR-4 shares the same obverse, so the key to confirmation of JR-5 is the reverse, where the letters M and E in AMERICA are level and separated. The left scroll edge lines up with the leftside upright of D in UNITED. The present coin displays attractive lilac-gray toning and blue overtones. Mint luster is sparse but resolutely glows in small amounts, primarily at the margins.
