Early Half Dollars
1802 50C O-101, T-1, R.3, XF40 PCGS. Due to a bullion depositor preference for the silver dollar denomination, 1802 half dollar production was limited to less than 30,000 pieces, all from the same die pair. This dove-gray and autumn-brown example is minimally abraded and retains hints of its initial mint bloom. A small wedge-shaped field depression below the hair ribbon is noted as an identifier.
