Bust Half Dollars
1815/2 50C O-101a, R.3, AU55 NGC. The 1815/2 half dollar was struck from a single die pair, making its scarcity simple to estimate. Mint State examples are rarely offered, and high-end AU coins make only limited appearances. This Choice AU representative is in the later die state with a curving die crack through the denomination and arrowheads on the reverse. Both sides exhibit a bold strike and strong border dentils. Uniform gunmetal-gray toning blankets each side. Census: 17 in 55, 51 finer (3/17).
