Seated Half Dollars
1872-CC 50C WB-101 VF30 PCGS. A speckling of autumn-brown toning gathers at the margins and spreads across the lilac-silver surfaces of this well-defined and scarce CC-Mint issue. Eight die pairs were used to strike 257,000 pieces, a moderate mintage by Carson City standards, but a small quantity in the overall context of the series. This piece is minimally abraded and well-defined, with six strong letters in LIBERTY and the E weak, but present. Population: 24 in 30, 103 finer (3/17).
