Gorgeous aqua patina on each side surrounds silver and pink centers, and the proof strike is full throughout, save for a hint of softness on the lower-left eagle's claw, a problematic area for this Christian Gobrecht design. A beautiful example, among the few finest survivors from the post-Civil War mintage of 1,000 proofs. Population: 5 in 66, 0 finer. CAC: 2 in 66, 1 finer (3/17).
