Barber Half Dollars
1893-O 50C MS66 NGC. Although not rare in the absolute sense with nearly 1.4 million coins struck, the 1893-O Barber half is a condition rarity in high Mint State grades. A look at the population reports reveals that the number of 1893-O halves drops significantly above the MS63 grade level. Only seven MS66 pieces have been certified by both NGC and PCGS combined with none finer. This is an extremely rare opportunity for a collector to obtain one of the finest representatives of this early Barber half. Splendid green-gray peripheral toning encircles the lighter silver-gray centers. The strike is razor-sharp, showing no mentionable weakness on either side -- a pleasing exception to the rule for O-mint coins. Glowing luster radiates beneath the vibrant toning, enhancing the compelling the visual appeal. This virtually pristine Premium Gem Barber half would make a perfect addition to a fine Registry Set.
