1799 $1 8x5 Stars, B-23, BB-159, R.3, Fine 15 PCGS. Bowers Die State II. The sole die marriage with an 8x5 star arrangement. Apparently, the engraver entered one too many stars on the right side of the obverse die. The central reverse displays several criss-cross adjustment marks, as issued, but post-strike impairments are absent aside from honest wear. In fact, the steel-gray surfaces will please many observers.
