1801 $1 B-1, BB-211, R.3, VF25 PCGS. CAC. Bowers Die State IV, cracked through the STA in STATES. This coins retains strong detail for the VF grade level, showing wear mainly on Liberty's crown and shoulder, and on the upper edge of the eagle's right (facing) wing. Strong detail remains on the hair curls, stars, shield, and recessed wing feathers. Original pewter-gray toning blankets largely smooth surfaces. A loupe shows a few tiny, old scratches around the date. The border dentils are complete around each side. One of five CAC-approved 1801 dollars in VF25 (3/17).
