Seated Dollars
1847 $1 MS63 NGC. OC-1, R.1. Osburn-Cushing b/d. A large mintage of 140,750 pieces and apparently high-survivorship makes this issue one of the more available Seated Liberty dollars in both circulated and Uncirculated conditions. A sharply struck and brilliant Select example. Luster is frosty and rich on the obverse, although a bit subdued on the reverse. Only a few minor abrasions appear on the coin, with the obverse particularly free marks. Census: 22 in 63, 10 finer (3/17).
Ex: Chicago Central States Signature (Heritage, 4/2014), lot 4560, which realized $4,406.25.
