Trade Dollars
1877-S T$1 MS65 NGC. Large S. More than 9.5 million Trade dollars were struck at the San Francisco Mint alone in 1877, while the Philadelphia and Carson City mints combined for another 3.5 million pieces. The S-Mint coins are readily available through the MS64 grade, but full Gem pieces are scarce-to-rare. This lustrous and satiny MS65 example is sharp except on a few of Liberty's curls. Attractive translucent-gold toning deepens slightly at the borders for outstanding eye appeal. Just a few tiny marks are visible under a loupe. Census: 27 in 65, 7 finer (3/17).
