Indian Cents
1862 1C MS66 PCGS. The most available date in the copper-nickel subset of the Indian Head cent series, this gleaming Premium Gem would be an excellent selection for type collectors. An unusual patina graces the surfaces of this copper-nickel cent, which appears more like the color of a brilliant nickel than the tan or reddish toned surfaces normally seen on this date. A strong strike provides almost-full definition to the headdress feathers, while the four diamonds on the ribbon are complete. The reverse is rotated approximately 45°. Smooth, silverlike surfaces are unabraded with no spots or other distractions. Population: 91 in 66 (7 in 66+), 14 finer (3/17).
