Proof Lincoln Cents
1936 1C Type Two -- Brilliant Finish PR64 Red Cameo PCGS. The Mint resumed proof set offerings in 1936 for the first time since 1916. The coins were first issued in Satin Finish (Type One) and, later, in Brilliant Finish (Type Two). The all-brilliant finish was attractive but, since the devices were not deliberately frosted, examples with Cameo contrast are unusual. This impressive Choice example displays unexpectedly frosted, sharply detailed design elements that contrast boldly with the reflective fields. The original red surfaces are lightly marked and eye appeal is outstanding. Population: 3 in 64 Red Cameo, 6 finer (3/17).
