Three Cent Silver
1857 3CS MS66+ PCGS. CAC. All Variety Two three-cent pieces (1854-1858) are rare in high Mint State grades. This Plus-graded 1857 example is CAC endorsed and displays richly frosted, lustrous surfaces with a translucent pale-gold sheen and a strong strike from spectacularly clashed dies. We note weakness on a few of the reverse stars, but all else is sharp. It is the sole coin to receive the PCGS Plus designation at the MS66 level. Population: 13 in 66 (1 in 66+), 2 finer. CAC: 8 in 66, 2 finer (3/17).
