Liberty Nickels
1884 5C MS65 PCGS. CAC. The 188 in the date are recut, although not as dramatically as FS-301; this recutting is not listed in Cherrypickers'. This Gem 1884 Liberty nickel is well-struck on the wreath but weak on stars 1 and 2. Satiny luster shows light golden toning. Numerous die cracks appear on the reverse. There are 42 finer examples reported by PCGS (3/17).
