1939 5C Reverse of 1940, FS-901, PR67 PCGS. Most 1939 proofs retain the blurry "Wavy Steps" design, as introduced in 1938. The "Straight Steps" subtype began in 1939, but it appears on a small minority of proofs of that date. This "Straight Steps" example is fully struck and flawless with variegated light caramel-gold toning.
