1917-D 50C Obverse MS65 NGC. The certified population falls off by roughly two-thirds between MS64 and MS65. Gems are very scarce and usually targeted by those unable to hold out for one of the 10 or so MS66 representatives at both services combined. This is a wholly brilliant Obverse Mintmark Walker with incredibly smooth fields and a typical strike. A great example of this popular two-year type and Guide Book variety. Census: 53 in 65, 5 finer (3/17).
