1969-S 1C Doubled Die Obverse, FS-101, AU53 PCGS. One of the important rarities in the modern Lincoln cent series, the obverse doubling on the date, LIBERTY, and motto of this variety is bold and easily visible without magnification. The only similar variety with such widespread doubling is the more famous but less rare 1955 Doubled Die Obverse cent. This example shows light high-point wear and scattered circulation marks on its light olive surfaces, retaining traces of original orange mint color, especially on the reverse. Population: 4 in 53, 28 finer (3/17).
