Standing Liberty Quarters
1920-D 25C MS66 Full Head PCGS. The 1920-D is a conditional rarity and a major challenge for the Registry Set collector. Branch mint issues of the 1920s circulated extensively, and the attrition rate was unusually high due to the exposed date quickly wearing off. The 1920-D in Gem or finer Full Head is almost as rare as its San Francisco counterpart. We have only offered a handful of Premium Gems in the last several years. This piece displays outstanding preservation and softly frosted luster. A dusting of champagne toning blankets each side. Slight weakness is seen on the gown lines and shield rivets, but Liberty's head is sharp and the eagle is well-defined. The date numerals are weak at the top, as usual for this issue. Population: 14 in 66 (2 in 66+) Full Head, 6 finer (3/17).
