1814 50C O-109, R.2, MS65 PCGS. A rather plentiful variety, although no 1814 can truly be called common at MS65 or finer grades. This impressive piece has satiny silver-gray luster and excellent design definition under splendid amber-gold, steel-blue, and lilac toning. Both sides exhibit extensive die clash marks that are typical for the variety. Perhaps only four or five examples of the O-109 are known at this grade level, with none in higher grades based on recent auction appearances. Population for all nine 1814 die varieties: 15 in 65 (1 in 65+), 6 finer (3/17).
