Walking Liberty Half Dollars
1919-D 50C MS64 PCGS. CAC. In the Guide Book of Mercury Dimes, Standing Liberty Quarters, and Liberty Walking Half Dollars (Whitman Publishing, LLC, 2015), Dave Bowers reports that the typical 1919-D has 50% or less details, and writes: "Finding a coin with sharper details can be done, but don't expect 80% or more details." So the cataloger surveyed the Heritage cataloging staff, and estimates of remaining detail on this Choice Mint State piece ranged from 70% to 90% with an average of 78%. In other words, this 1919-D is one of the sharpest examples that you may ever find. Housed in a green-label PCGS holder, this key issue has brilliant silver luster and satiny surfaces with outstanding eye appeal. Population: 86 in 64 (5 in 64+), 12 finer. CAC: 21 in 64, 2 finer (3/17).
