Morgan Dollars
1878-CC $1 MS66+ PCGS. A beautiful album-toned Premium Gem, this high-end first-year Carson City Morgan displays gold, sea-green, and violet toning around both peripheries, with a warm amber-gold interior on the obverse and a brilliant center on the reverse. Radiant cartwheel luster rolls around each side. Upon close examination, we find only a few light grazes on the cheek and in the adjacent field that prevent an even finer grade. The strike is sharp, and the eye appeal abounds. The 1878-CC is occasionally seen in MS66, but Plus-graded coins are rare. PCGS has certified just six finer representatives (3/17).
