1799 $10 Large Obverse Stars, BD-10, R.3 -- Cleaning -- PCGS Genuine. Unc Details. Bass-Dannreuther Die State 1/1, the usual die state with no clashing, lapping, or die cracks on either side. The BD-10 is the usual variety encountered for the 1799 eagles, and it is one of the two most plentiful varieties in the entire series of early eagles from 1795 to 1804. For that reason, it is a popular choice with type collectors who seek an 18th century representative of the design. Although lightly cleaned and now with satiny yellow surfaces, this piece shows no evidence of wear on either side, and should prove to be a relatively affordable representative.
