1803 $10 Large Reverse Stars, Star on Cloud, BD-5, High R.4, MS62 PCGS. Bass-Dannreuther Die State g/a. Faint clash marks appear on the obverse, with a light die crack connecting the tops of BE in LIBERTY. There is no evidence of reverse die cracks or clash marks. At one time this popular variety was considered a major rarity, but has now proven to be frequently encountered. It is believed that Harry W. Bass, Jr. was the first to notice the small extra star on the variety that was known long before. This lovely Mint State piece has brilliant yellow luster and satin surfaces with moderate adjustment marks on the reverse. Population: 7 in 62, 6 finer (3/17).
