1875 T$1 Trade Dollar, Judd-1426, Pollock-1569, High R.7, PR66 NGC. Ex: Share. A seated figure of Liberty faces left at the seashore, with 13 stars ringing the rim and the date 1875 below. She holds an olive branch and rests her left hand on a globe reading LIBERTY. Two flags and a sheaf of wheat flank her. A steamship with sails appears in the water, with sails billowing in one direction and steam blowing in the opposite direction. A scroll above the date reads IN GOD WE TRUST. The reverse is that of the as-issued Trade dollar, Type One, produced from 1873 through 1876, with berry below the eagle's claw. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. This obverse/reverse combination was issued in silver, copper, aluminum, and white metal. At least seven silver examples are known. The fields are bright and deeply mirrored on each side and the strike is complete throughout. Shallow planchet flaking is seen at the top of the flags, as issued. Light rose toning covers each side.
