1879-CC $1 Capped Die, VAM-3, AU50 NGC. A Top 100 Variety. An early die state with a comparatively clear mintmark, and without any breaks within the G in GOD. Any AU 1879-CC silver dollar is desirable, given the rarity of the popular Carson City issue. The present example displays peripheral luster and light golden-brown toning. Marks are few, and mostly relegated to the field near the M in UNUM.
