1883-S $1 MS64 PCGS. The 1883-S is one of two San Francisco issues from the early 1880s that are scarce in Mint State despite strong mintages (more than 6 million coins in the case of the 1883-S). This near-Gem example displays a bold strike and brilliant satin luster. Only a few tiny marks are seen with a loupe. PCGS has certified just 23 numerically finer representatives (3/17).
