1884-S $1 AU58 PCGS. VAM-3. Unlike most Morgan dollar issues, the 1884-S is much more available at the AU58 level than in Mint State. Specialists have speculated that a sealed bag or two was opened at a Nevada casino and briefly used for gambling. The present near-Mint example is ideal for the grade, with partly lustrous white surfaces that show few marks and only a hint of wear.
