Morgan Dollars
1885-CC $1 MS67 PCGS. VAM-3. The variety shows raised die scratches near Liberty's eye. The majority of the 228,000 Morgan dollars struck at Carson City in 1885 sat in storage for decades before being released by the GSA in the the 1970s. Examples are readily obtainable in MS66, but the population of MS67 coins drops by roughly 95%. This untoned, thickly frosted Superb Gem would be perfect for a high-end Registry Set. The centers are well-detailed, and there are only a couple of nearly indiscernible grazes that explain the grade. Population: 91 in 67 (4 in 67+), 1 finer (3/17).
