1886 $1 Doubled Date, VAM-20, MS64 PCGS. A Hot 50 Variety. All four date numerals are recut to some degree, most noticeably on the 1 and 6. This is a scarce variety that is rare in the upper Mint State grades. Here offered is a virtually brilliant near-Gem with vibrant, frosty mint luster. The strike is bold, and only a few light marks are observed. Among the finest VAM-20 coins attributed by PCGS (3/17).
