1886-S/S $1 VAM-2 MS65 PCGS. A Top 100 Variety. The variety is unrecorded on the PCGS insert, but a loupe confirms the doubled mintmark serifs characteristic of VAM-2, along with also-diagnostic die chips within the 6 in the date. This lower-mintage Gem exhibits dazzling luster and a sharp strike. The preservation is outstanding, though we note a small mint-made strike-through on Liberty's jaw.
