1889-CC $1 AU50 PCGS. VAM-2A. A much better date like the 1889-CC is less likely to be collected for its VAM number, but the VAM-2A is an interesting one. It features a faintly clashed n near the neck, but the High 9 in the date and a combination of distinctive die cracks add appeal. A crack across the bust tip extends left to star 1 and right through the date. Another bold crack runs downward from the edge through S in PLURIBUS, branching off into the cap. A reverse crack through TED of UNITED extends through the wingtip and STATES OF. This AU50 example retains a nice amount of mint luster and has only minor abrasions on the golden-gray surfaces.
