1891-S $1 Doubled Stars, VAM-3, MS63 PCGS. A Top 100 Variety. Liberty's eyelid is die doubled, and the left-side stars are die doubled toward the rim, most prominently on the star near the bust tip. The obverse die was paired with two or more reverse dies to strike the variety; further research is needed to assign VAMs to the separate die pairs. Brilliant and lustrous with a good strike and a well-preserved reverse.
