1893-O $1 MS63 NGC. CAC. The 1893-O boasts a mintage of only 300,000 coins, of which few survive in Mint State. This Select example is among the finest that most collectors find affordable, as NGC has seen only 34 finer examples (3/17), which trade for strong prices. This piece is semiprooflike on both sides, although more so on the reverse. Brilliant luster shows only minor marks. Trivial strike weakness also occurs on the central high points as expected for a New Orleans issue from this period.
