Morgan Dollars
1921-S $1 MS66 ★ NGC. The 1921-S Morgan dollar is scarce in MS66 and nearly unknown finer. It is the most challenging of the 1921 Morgans in high grade. This piece offers frosty, brilliant luster with no distracting abrasions. The obverse is well-struck, but the reverse exhibits the usual weakness on the eagle's breast and the lower wreath leaves. Nonetheless, eye appeal exceeds that of many other MS66-graded coins, as the Star designation indicates. Census: 65 in 66 (3 in 66+, 3 in 66 ★), 1 finer (3/17).
