1928 $1 MS65+ PCGS. CAC. The 1928 boasts the lowest mintage of the series (little more than 360,000 coins), and brings a considerable premium over common dates in all grades. This Gem example exhibits above-average detail for the issue, with the eagle's feathers and the hair over Liberty's ear well-defined. The surfaces are free of distractions, and display light champagne and amber-gold hues over each side, with satiny underlying mint luster. PCGS has seen only 18 numerically finer submissions (3/17).
