1847 1C Hawaii Cent MS63 Red PCGS. Medcalf 2CC-2. Crosslet 4, 7x8 berries. Only a small percentage of Mint State Hawaiian cents are certified as Red. The present well-struck piece displays orange-gold throughout the legends. The open fields display moderate carbon. Marks are virtually absent. A single-year type, produced for the Kingdom of Hawaii by H.M. & E.I. Richards of Attleboro, Massachusetts, a firm also known for an 1834 Lafayette Hard Times token.
