Undated $1 Eisenhower Dollar -- Struck on a Dime Planchet, Uniface Reverse -- MS65 NGC. A dime planchet became mixed in with Ike dollar planchets, and was fed (along with a dollar planchet) between Ike dollar dies. Relative to the obverse die, the dollar planchet was centered over the dime planchet, which faced the reverse die. The strike indented the dollar (not included) with the present dime. The reverse side shows all of the eagle's head, body, legs, and tail. Most of the left (facing) wing is also present, as is the olive branch and designer's initials. The edge is plain, and the reverse is nearly featureless, since the dollar planchet prevented direct contact with the obverse die. An impressive mint error.
