Lindbergh was the first pilot to complete a solo nonstop New York to Paris flight, between May 20 and 21 in 1927. On June 18, 1927, Lindbergh was feted at the Hotel Chase in St. Louis, Missouri, and banquet medals were distributed. Lindbergh received the only gold example. 25 medals were struck in silver and awarded to prominent financial backers of his flight. 2,000 examples were struck in bronze and distributed to banquet attendees. This is one of the rare silver examples, and it exhibits pristine matte surfaces.
