1873 T$1 Trade Dollar, Judd-1322, Pollock-1465, R.4, PR65 Cameo NGC. The obverse is similar to the adopted design, but with a longer base on the rock that extends to the right (facing) rim behind Liberty. The reverse shows a small eagle high in the field, with spread wings and holding a ribbon that is nearly a closed loop in its beak. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. This design was produced in silver, copper, aluminum, and white metal, but only the silver version is known with both a reeded and a plain edge. This is a remarkable Gem proof that displays stark contrast between the mirrored fields and frosted devices. Each side is mostly brilliant with a slight hint of rose patina around the margins.
