1879 G$1 MS65+ ★ NGC. CAC. Gold dollar production amounted 3,000 coins in 1879, this being one in a series of low-mintage issues toward the end of the series. Boldly contrasted, particularly on the obverse, this Gem is razor-sharp with light yellow-gold color and surprisingly few marks considering the Gem assessment. Census: 35 in 65 (2 in 65★, 1 in 65+★), 38 finer. CAC: 11 in 65, 11 finer (3/17).
