The 14 Stars Reverse is the more plentiful of the two 1804 quarter eagle varieties, although demand for this date makes examples elusive on the market. John Dannreuther estimates that fewer than 200 pieces exist in all grades. This example boasts well-defined design elements and sharp obverse dentils. The reverse borders show faint adjustment marks upon close examination. The medium orange-gold surfaces have only faint evidence of cleaning, which was performed a long time in the past.
