1838-C/C $2 1/2 XF45 ANACS. Variety 20. The obverse mintmark placement, low mintage of 7,880 coins, and status as the first Charlotte Mint issue ensure the 1838-C quarter eagle's popularity for years to come. The only problem is that just 150 examples are believed extant. This light Choice XF two and a half features relatively strong detail for the facility and grade. Marks are mostly small and undistracting, with a single planchet void above Liberty's nose.
