1843-D $2 1/2 Small D AU58 PCGS. Variety 4-H. A late die state with cracks near the curve of the D in the denomination. Luster dominates the borders and motifs of this Borderline Uncirculated Dahlonega quarter eagle. The luminous honey-gold surfaces show only inconsequential contact. The strike is sharp on the stars, but typical on the eagle's left (facing) leg. Population: 26 in 58, 12 finer (3/17).
