Liberty Quarter Eagles
1886 $2 1/2 MS63 PCGS. The Philadelphia increased quarter eagle production in 1886 by a factor of five over the previous year, but the issue remains scarce with a mintage of 4,000 coins. Few survive this fine, but examples often feature the same prooflike reflectivity seen throughout this Select piece. Light yellow-gold color and a full strike are defining features. Population: 13 in 63, 7 finer (3/17).
