Liberty Quarter Eagles
1893 $2 1/2 MS67 PCGS. The 1893 Liberty quarter eagle claims a mintage of 30,000 pieces, a small total in absolute terms but large in the context of the series. Although Mint State examples are not too difficult to locate, the 1893 is surprisingly elusive in grades above the Gem level. This spectacular Superb Gem is one of the six finest examples at PCGS and NGC combined. The design elements are sharply detailed throughout. Well-preserved, peach-gold surfaces show no mentionable distractions. Vibrant mint luster adds to the terrific visual appeal. Population: 2 in 67, 0 finer (3/17).
