1909 $2 1/2 MS65 PCGS. The PCGS Population Report shows the number of 1909 quarter eagles drops by more than 90% between MS65 and MS66. Most collectors opt for an attractive Gem rather than hold out for one of the few top-graded Premium Gems. This softly lustrous, honey-gold two and a half presents bold strike characteristics and predictably smooth surfaces. There are just a few inconsequential ticks left of the motto. PCGS has seen 19 finer submissions (3/17).
