Classic Half Eagles
1834 $5 Crosslet 4 XF40 NGC. Breen-6503, McCloskey 5-D, R.4. The Plain 4 1834 Classic five is fairly common, but the elusive Crosslet 4 is the key Philadelphia variety of the type. This is a tan-gold half eagle with a minimally marked appearance and rich definition on the eagle's plumage. The curls show wear consistent with the XF level.
