Liberty Half Eagles
1881 $5 MS64+ PCGS. CAC. The Philadelphia Mint half eagle of 1881 had an incredibly high mintage of 5.7 million pieces, the highest mintage of any circulating half eagle struck at any mint from 1795 to 1929. Despite that mintage, only 20 examples have been graded higher at PCGS (3/17), making this Choice Mint State piece an almost perfect grade to pursue. This piece is fully lustrous with delicate orange toning over its frosty yellow luster.
